Southsystem was formed in 1986 by Simon Kay with the aim of providing design and development of electronic systems for small manufacturers.

In the following decades, the company has stayed up to date with advances in technology, creating solutions across a wide range of industries.

As Simon moved towards retirement his son Alex took over Southsystem in 2021, initially focusing on maintaining support for existing customers who had come to appreciate the bespoke service that we provide.

Alex’s career started in the water industry in the early 2000s, with an engineering apprenticeship with a major UK water company then progressed through a range of companies from control system manufacturers to capital project main contractors.
